
Neurocognitive Development and Family Well-being Support Program for Children with ADHD
TOGETHER, WE HELP ONE FAMILY AT A TIME
A scientifically-supported program designed specifically for Primary 3 to 6 students with attention deficit/hyperactivity challenges and their parents, delivered by a multidisciplinary team including neurocognitive specialists, special education consultants, registered social workers, experienced educators, and cross-disciplinary professional instructors.
The program utilizes comprehensive interventions including neurocognitive training, self-development courses, and parental guidance sessions to enhance SEN students’ focus, learning capacity, and executive functions while improving family dynamics. Selected eligible families will participate free of charge.

Training and Research Components
1/ Training
For Students- Neurocognitive Training (NCT) and Self-Development Initiative (SDI): 40 weekly sessions (45 minutes each), held at Dreamstarter – Room C, 4/F, 760 Cheung Sha Wan Road, Lai Chi Kok, Kowloon.

2/ Phase evaluations with parent questionnaires and feedback
We will collaborate with The Education University of Hong Kong’s Institute of Special Needs and Inclusive Education to conduct evidence-based research on program outcomes, implementing phased evaluations at the initial, middle, and final stages, requiring full participation from both students and parents.

Assessment and questionnaire results will measure and quantify improvements in children’s attention capacity, emotional regulation skills, and family harmony levels.

In 2013, Professor Sin Kuen-fung was awarded the title of Professor of Practice in recognition of his longstanding leadership and outstanding contributions in inclusive and special education. His academic expertise and research focus encompass emotional disorders, learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, assistive technologies for special needs, and professional development in inclusive education. He regularly serves as a consultant for research initiatives in Hong Kong and teacher training programs in special education across Mainland China and Macau, having successfully secured multiple research projects and commissioned training programs in the field. Professor Sin initiated and led a HK$51 million Education Bureau-funded teacher training program over three years, delivering comprehensive special education courses to promote inclusive development in Hong Kong schools, while actively serving on boards of special schools, government committees for gifted/special education, and NGOs supporting individuals with disabilities, currently as Vice Chairperson of the Hong Kong Special Education Society.BrainX Team

Program Details
- Students must be in Primary 3 to 6 (2024-25 academic year) with a confirmed diagnosis of attention deficit/hyperactivity
- Participating families must receive Comprehensive Social Security Assistance and/or Working Family Allowance and/or Student Financial Assistance
- This support program is fully funded by the Simon K Y and Chrissy Lee Charitable Foundation. Approved applicants must pay a deposit, fully refundable upon meeting specified attendance rates (HKD$3,000 for training program families / HKD$1,000 for research project families)
- Service duration: approximately 10 months
- Quota: 30 children and 60 parents
